In my career search, I was really looking for an institution where I could be of service and when this opportunity presented itself, I was not only excited but honored to have been selected. I have attended many Morgan MBA events in the past and have had the pleasure to witness some great accomplishments. I'm truly looking forward to all the future successes within the program.
Also, the Morgan MBA Program is remarkable and truly unique because of Ms. Myrick, Ms. Annie, the faculty, and this wonderful student body. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming; everyday confirms that I'm on the right team! What attracted me most to the Morgan MBA Program was its diverse student body and the caliber of students that graduate from the program...Very impressive!

I had a wonderful time at the NBMBAA Conference. It was most definitely something to be a part of from the daily conference sessions, company representative engagements, to the evening events, getting to know fellow MBAs, and experiencing a little of New Orleans! Although I wasn't looking particularly for a new employment opportunity, I had plenty of opportunities to speak with representatives and see what they were looking for in particular and get a feel for some organizations, which was great. I really enjoyed all of the Development Sessions given by the CSN and another session that I was able to just walk into. Seeing many many people of color all in one place who had either obtained an MBA or a Master's degree, or were in the process or thinking about it...was well worth the trip and a definite boost of morale.
In addition to all of that, one very important thing that attending this event did for me was "awaken my Entreprenurial Spirit"! I'm not just looking for an opportunity where I can excel anymore...I'm looking to Create an Opportunity for myself and influence some others. It has really done a number on my creative energy and just opened my eyes and brain to new things. It's easy for us to get sidetracked if you've been doing the same thing or similar for some time, so this was so good, even for "seasoned" professionals. I keep waiting for my conference "buzz" to wear off, but it's NOT and it's been 6 days since I've been back and I'm still telling everybody about it and how I'm going to do something big!

The NBMBAA Conference re-energized both the need and drive to re-tool, regroup, rebuild, reload. That said, Morgan was/is in a great position to take that concept and run with it. The MBA program at Morgan has taken a seemingly new direction with new staff, new students and good and fresh ideas to bounce around in honing the critical skills needed in creating THE (huge reach) MBA program.
I chose Morgan both because I knew what to expect from my undergraduate experience and the fact that it's close to home. However, the AACSB accreditation, statement of accomplishments and the rigor of the program were the main selling points. The Morgan MBA is not a degree of "cakewalk"; you will have a serious brain massage in this program. You will also have ups and down while in this program. No MBA program is a program without stress and moments. Since being accepted by the Morgan MBA program, I've been better for all of it, good bad and/or indifferent. While being an underdog is almost par for the course for Morgan (in terms of name recognition), catching folks when they sleep is a wonderful feeling.

Exhilarating, Inspriring, Informative, and Memorable are the adjectives that come to my mind when I recall the NBMBAA Conference in New Orleans in September 2009. I met people from all over the United States that I still keep in contact with today whether for business or personal conversations. With over ten years work experience I now realize the importance of networking and keeping the connections. I was able to materialize opportunities for myself and expose friends and family to options that pertain to their interests. I socialized and mingled with some important and positive business persons. It was just astounding to see and be around so many beautiful Black People who are doing something productive with their lives. Much love and respect to this event! P.S. I'm definitely going again next year...L.A. Look out 'cause here I come!!
