Morgan has a “rolling admissions” process. When you

possible. It helps to finish this as early as possible, if you
are applying for any financial help.

the Morgan cost is 25% to 50% less than competing programs. A

class?
The Morgan student is a hard working adult with a couple of
years experience completing their MBA part-time. A sizeable
minority are international. Academic backgrounds include most
liberal arts majors and some engineering and sciences. The
majority of our students come from the United States, the
Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East.

What is a “typical” class
like?
Classes are typically held during evenings (6-8:50 pm).
Morgan’s small classes will expose you a variety of
formats—lectures, simulations, case analysis, projects,
in-class reports and a range of group and individual
responsibilities. Classes normally have 15 or fewer students.
Students spend roughly 3 hours per credit hour per week outside
of class preparing and doing long term assignments individually
or with group members.

What is the value of earning an MBA from a
program that is accredited by AACSB, International?
There are several advantages in getting your degree from an
AACSB, International accredited program:
- The program
has been examined to insure the quality of the program,
faculty and students are high. Supportive infrastructure
such as computers and library resources have to meet
rigorous standards.
- Second, this
is recognized by employers who know that accredited
programs produce higher quality employees.
- Third, if you
should choose to go on for a Ph.D., these credits will
likely be accepted as a step toward a doctorate.
Top
How many credit units could I transfer in
from another school that I have been attending?
If the course comes from another AACSB International school you
can bring 6 credits (in addition to classes that could be
waived) providing you meet these conditions:
- They must be regular graduate level courses
- The credits must have been completed at an accredited
institution of higher learning within the last 5 years
- The courses can not be supervised field work, directed
study or field practice
- You must have an earned minimum grade of B.
Credits are not accepted from courses that have been done in
MBA schools outside the country since we are not familiar with
the standards in other locations.

If I am an international student
where can I get my grade transcripts translated?
As long as the translation is done from any accredited agency
within the US or any Government agency (e. g.: Consulate) from
other countries or other internationally known agency. It
should be 'officially translated'.

What are the requirements to get into
Morgan’s MBA?
The bottom line decision is based on the MBA Committee’s
judgment whether the student can be successful in the program.
There are several factors that the MBA Admissions Committee
considers when evaluating an applicant to the program:
- Professional Work Experience.
We have a balance of students who enter from an undergraduate
program and many who have work experience. A background of
work experience does make the student more competitive upon
completion and we encourage their application. This is
contained in the student’s resume.
- Undergraduate Academic Record
We believe that prior academic achievement is a good predictor
of a student’s potential for success in the Morgan MBA
program. Students with a GPA of 2.75 and above are likely to
succeed. The larger percentage of candidates have a 3.00 and
above. Some students show significant improvement after a slow
undergraduate start. The committee will look at other graduate
work as an adjunct to the undergraduate work.
- Graduate Admission Test (GMAT)
The MBA program uses the GMAT scores as one of the selection
criteria in admitting students. Although there is no cut-off
score, it is important to do as well as you can. GMAT scores
normally range from the 400s to the 600s.
Contact the Graduate Management Admissions Council for more
information. When you take the GMAT, remember to send your
scores to Morgan State University.
- Three Letters of Recommendation
A candidate should ask three references to objectively comment
on their professional or academic performance.
Another step in the application process is to write an essay
that gives another insight into the applicant’s capabilities.
The focus should be on giving the admissions committee another
view of your capabilities.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Countries whose principal language is not English must take
TOEFL. Candidates often have varied experiences with English in
terms of residing in an English speaking country or being
instructed in English. The only criteria considered is the
original principle language of the country. All others take
TOEFL. The scores should be sent to the Graduate Office on
campus. Top
What is the GMAT?
Most graduate schools use the Graduate Management Admission
Test (GMAT) score as one of the indicators a student will
succeed in the program. The test is administered on a
world-wide basis on a continual basis. It is a
computer-adaptive test (CAT). This is a special logic to
estimate the ability of a candidate. For more on the GMAT go to
while more can be learned about CAT tests at here

When will I know about the graduate
committee’s decisions?
The Graduate Committee will review your transcripts and resume
and will determine waivers of foundation coursework based on your
background, professional experience, relevant certificates and
training, and dates of completion of relevant undergraduate
coursework.

How long will it take me to
graduate?

credit hours. 21 are core credits; the rest are electives.

What is AACSB?
AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate
Schools of Business – is the professional association for
college and university management education and the premier
accrediting agency for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral
degree programs in business administration and accounting.
AACSB International membership connects Morgan to the global
network of more than 900 educational institutions, corporate
and nonprofit organizations representing more than 60 nations.
To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the
expectations of a wide range of quality standards relating to
curriculum, faculty resources, admissions, degree requirements,
library and computer facilities, financial resources and
intellectual climate that are all mission-linked. Morgan's Earl
G. Graves School of Business and Management received initial
AACSB International accreditation in 1992, putting it on par
with the top business schools in the nation. The College’s
